Rekha Picked Priyanka Chopra’s Wedding Jewellery For Gracing Her Brother’s Wedding From Sabyasachi’s Collection. Did She Borrow?

Last Updated:

Rekha wore a striking piece of jewellery at Siddharth Chopra’s wedding that resembled Priyanka Chopra’s wedding jewellery.

Rekha teamed her look with Sabyasachi jewellery at Siddharth Chopra’s wedding.

Rekha, the epitome of grace and elegance, has etched a special place in millions of hearts with her strong personality and sartorial choices. The veteran star keeps winning the fashion charts with her graceful dressing, and over the years, has even become a designer’s favourite. This time, for attending Priyanka Chopra’s brother, Siddharth Chopra’s wedding, Rekha turned to Sabyasachi’s collection. No wonder, her look was worth dying for. And surprisingly, Rekha’s neckpiece has a stunning connection to Priyanka’s wedding jewellery.

In a couple of photos featuring Rekha’s look for Siddharth Chopra’s wedding, the actress looked gorgeous in a silver and gold saree. She teamed her look with a matching three-quarter sleeves blouse and glam makeup, including blushed and highlighted cheeks with winged eyes. Her signature bold lipstick and a middle-parted gajra-adorned bun hairdo added stars to her look. However, it was her accessories that made all the noise.

For the day, Rekha accessorised her look with a dripping-in-diamond necklace from Sabyasachi’s collection. Her multi-layered broad neckpiece, is a masterpiece featuring uncut diamonds alongside a few pearl drops. She paired it with a stack of golden and a few pearl-embedded bangles, a pair of jhumkas and a maang teeka.

Interestingly, Rekha’s neck jewellery for Siddharth Chopra’s wedding has a striking resemblance to his sister Priyanka Chopra’s necklace, which she wore at her 2018 wedding in Jodhpur. Well, it is still unclear if the veteran actress borrowed the neckpiece from the Citadel star’s closet. However, both belonged to Sabyasachi’s exquisite jewellery collection.

Talking about the necklace, during Pee Cee’s wedding, shedding details about the same accessory, the designer wrote in an Instagram post, “As an ode to the resplendence of Mughal jewellery, her wedding jewellery was crafted with uncut diamonds, emeralds and Japanese cultured pearls in 22 karat gold and had delicate tiny stars in uncut diamonds to give a sense of whimsy to an important traditional piece.”

According to the designer, the neckpiece was crafted from white gold and a resplendence of Mughal jewellery. Besides uncut diamonds and emeralds, it featured Japanese cultured pearls in 22K gold that had delicate tiny stars to give a sense of whimsy. The jewellery alongside Priyanka’s gorgeous red-hued ensemble with 110 embroideries took 3,720 hours to create.

For the unversed, Siddharth Chopra tied the knot with actress Neelam Upadhyaya on February 7.
