Maha Kumbh 2025: A holy bath with Sangam water will be organised on Basant Panchami at the permanent Chhath Ghat in Sector 122 in Noida
Do you want to take a dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh but are hesitant due to the big crowds and the possibility of long treks? If yes, then you are in luck and can experience the holy dip of the Sangam in Noida.
A holy bath with Sangam water will be organised on Basant Panchami, on the day of Amrit Snan, at the permanent Chhath Ghat located in Sector 122 of Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Under this initiative, water will be brought from the holy Sangam in Prayagraj and poured into the ghat, allowing devotees to receive the sacred benefits of the Maha Kumbh in their own city.
On January 29, 2025, during the Mauni Amavasya bath, 30 people died in a stampede at the Maha Kumbh fair in Prayagraj, and many others were injured. Following this incident, the residents of Sector 122 in Noida decided to forgo their plans of travelling to Prayagraj and instead organised a holy bath in their own locality.
The Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) of Sector 122 will clean the Chhath Ghat and fill it with water brought from the Sangam of Prayagraj. With this temporary arrangement, devotees will be able to take a holy dip without having to travel long distances.
RWA President Dr Umesh Sharma stated that the initiative will run from 9am on February 2 to February 3.
On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, devotees will be able to take a holy dip at the ghat. Arrangements will also be made for worship, where devotees can perform religious rituals with the assistance of pandits. This effort has also received support from Mahamandaleshwars.
They believe that if a devotee cannot travel to Prayagraj, they can still earn merit by mixing Sangam water with the holy water from their own area. This process will give the same spiritual benefits as taking a dip in the Maha Kumbh.
