Tom Cruise, Ana de Armas’ new movie ‘Deeper’ faces delay after couple’s breakup

The couple is said to have split several weeks ago after nine months together

Fans might have to wait a little longer to see Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas’ on- screen chemistry, following the latest development surrounding their new film.

Cruise, 63, and de Armas, 37, have reportedly had their upcoming movie put on hold amid the pair’s shocking breakup, despite rehearsals already taking in London.

The couple is said to have split several weeks ago after nine months together.

For context, Deeper is a supernatural thriller that follows an astronaut exploring the mysterious ocean and would have marked their first time acting opposite each other.

The news comes after production was reportedly paused by Daniel Richtman due to US President Donald Trump’s ongoing tariffs affecting the film industry.

The breakup was ‘Ana’s decision’ a source told Us Weekly on Thursday, after she allegedly felt ‘uncomfortable’ with his fast pace.

‘Things were moving fast and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going,’ the insider shared.

The Ballerina star ‘put the brakes on’ but she still likes Cruise a lot’ the source added, sharing the two have ‘undeniable chemistry.’

‘Though they are ‘done for now’ the two ‘have a connection’ and ‘they will see how things go in the future.’

News of their split broke earlier this month.

Cruise and de Armas first sparked romance rumours in February when they were spotted dining in London, later attending David Beckham’s 50th birthday party and enjoying romantic getaways to Spain and Vermont.
