Taylor Swift, Hailee Steinfeld spark ‘bad blood’ speculations

Why do fans think Hailee Steinfeld and Taylor Swift not friends anymore?

Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld became friends way before she starred in the pop superstar’s Bad Blood music video, but fans have been asking if they still are.

The Eras Tour performer, 35, and Steinfeld, 28, are rarely seen together, if ever, and the Dickinson star does not appear to be a part of Swift’s inner circle anymore.

The Love Myself hitmaker’s bond with the Opalite songstress caught the spotlight once again in the wake of the Grammy winner’s alleged drama with Charli XCX.

The 365 songstress and Steinfeld both have similar histories with Swift, as they have both performed with her, and are believed to have gained exposure in their early career because of the Anti-Hero hitmaker.

Taking to X, a social media user shared a video of Steinfeld claiming that she is being ungrateful to Swift.

Steinfeld, who is married to the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, was seen supporting his team in the video, and shading Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

One fan defended Steinfeld, writing that her “hatred for the Chiefs has nothing to do with Taylor” because her loyalty lies with her husband’s team.

However, many brought up the 2016 drama when Swift had a public feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, and recalled that Steinfeld “betrayed Taylor the moment Kimye happened,” admitting that they weren’t friends to begin with.

A Swiftie argued, “Taylor gave her exposure to the masses by being friends with her and by featuring her in one of the biggest music videos of the 10s.”

One social media user explained, “I think majority of the Swifties are middle and high schoolers, or maybe elementary school. This woman is having a successful career and actually married her NFL player. Taylor did not give her success. She was nominated for an Oscar way before Taylor.”

Although the two former friends appear to be keeping their distance, Steinfeld spoke about trying to attend the Eras Tour back in 2023, and Swift “liked” the Capital Letters singer’s engagement post in 2024.
