Taylor Swift could be making a record of breaking her own records with The Fate of Ophelia, as she surpasses the records previously held by her one by one.
The 35-year-old pop superstar’s only single from her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has been at number 1 since its release on the Global Spotify chart.
Ophelia has held the number 1 spot for 38 days at this point, which is more than any song has held the position, outrunning Swift’s Shake It Off, which ruled the chart for 36 days.
Swifties took to social media and celebrated the record, with one writing on X, “ORGANIC SMASH HIT OF THE YEARRRR.”
While another echoed, “The only one who can beat 2015 Taylor is 2025 Taylor,” and, “And people said she was at her peak in 2014, 11 years after and she is still not at her peak!!!!,” chimed in a third.
Others expressed their excitement, writing, “taylor swift is queen of music! She is breaking all the possible records,” and “Shake it off meet your 2nd ender.”
Although Swift has broken many streaming records with her album already, it is not a contender for the upcoming Grammy Awards in 2026, since it was released after the eligibility window was closed.
