‘John Wick’ spinoff ‘Ballerina’ to release featurette at Comic-Con Brazil panel

Ana De Armas’ ‘From the World of John Wick: Ballerina’ at Comic-Con Brazil

Ana De Armas is coming to the world of John Wick sooner than you think.

The actress is officially stepping into the action universe with Ballerina, the next installment in the blockbuster franchise. Previously led by Keanu Reeves, the spin-off is set to premiere on June 6, 2025.

Ahead of its release, Lionsgate will debut a new featurette for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina during a Comic-Con Brazil panel, which fans can watch live on YouTube this Sunday at 2 p.m. PT.

Ballerina takes place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and follows De Armas as Eve Macarro, a dancer-turned-assassin seeking revenge for her father’s death.

The cast includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves, who reprises his role as John Wick.

Directed by Len Wiseman, the movie features a script by Shay Hatten, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad. The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski under Thunder Road Films/87eleven.

Since its debut, John Wick (2014) has become a global phenomenon, grossing over $86 million worldwide. The franchise surpassed the $1 billion mark in 2023 with John Wick: Chapter 4.

Alongside Ballerina, the John Wick universe is set to expand further.

Donnie Yen will return as the blind assassin Caine in a new Lionsgate project, and a prequel anime film is also in the works.
