Jay-Z fires back at woman’s plea in counter lawsuit amid rape allegations

Jay-Z fires back at woman’s plea in counter lawsuit amid rape allegations

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has filed his first legal counter-lawsuit against an unnamed individual accusing him of sexual assault amidst legal controversy.

According to In Touch Weekly, the 55-year-old rap icon has requested a federal judge to force the woman to reveal her identity, alleging that she is part of a calculated campaign against him.

For the unversed, on December 8, an anonymous woman accused the rapper of sexually assaulting her when she was 13 years old in 2000.

She alleges that Jay-Z and his close pal, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, raped her during the afterparty of the MTV Music Awards.

However, Diddy is already behind bars due to racketeering and human trafficking charges.

As per the mentioned details in the lawsuit, Jay-Z now aims to challenge the complainant’s request to keep her identity confidential.

Reportedly, the rap star is now seeking to dismiss the entire case unless the accuser reveals her identity, arguing that this controversy is damaging to his reputation.

One of his legal practitioners stated, “For months, an extortionate campaign has been targeting [Jay-Z] under cover of darkness. This campaign was cynical and calculated to force the payment of an exorbitant sum of money.”

“[Jay-Z] would have to pay X millions of dollars irrespective of the truth, or else, when [Jay-Z] refused to pay and instead took measures to establish his innocence,” the lawyer added.

Additionally, the Young Forever musician’s lawyer elaborated, “Jay-Z has never been accused of, let alone engaged in, any sexual misconduct.”
